Safety procedures

In case of wind gusts, adopt the following safety procedures:

  • If you are outdoors, stay away from tree-lined streets and scaffolding, gazebos, exhibition or commercial facilities, advertising boards and spaces;
  • If you are in the mountains, do not use ski lifts, as the ski lift service could be interrupted;
  • If you are at the seaside, avoid stopping along the coast, on piers and jetties, since a fierce wind can cause sudden storm surges;
  • If you are driving, reduce your speed; be especially careful when driving over viaducts and exiting tunnels, in particular if you are driving a van, a tarpaulin-covered vehicle, a motorhome or a caravan;
  • If you are indoors, stay away from windows and glass walls;
  • If you are at homes, arrange and secure all objects in areas exposed to the wind that are at risk of being blown away by wind gusts (windowsill and balcony vases, antennas and unstable roof covering).
