Safety procedures
In case of flood or severe weather, adopt the following safety procedures:
- If the water level rises rapidly and there is a risk of flooding, leave your home after turning off the gas tap and disconnecting the electricity meter and go to the assembly points listed in the emergency plans of your Municipality;
- If there is no risk of flooding, it is better to stay indoors;
- If it is not possible to leave your home, go to the upper floors and wait for the rescuers to arrive;
- Avoid using your car, you could risk getting stuck inside or being swept away by the current;
- Use your phone only when necessary;
- Avoid going to basements, underground garages, etc.;
- On the days immediately following the flood, use your car with caution and avoid crossing flooded areas;
- On returning home, check, if possible with a technician, that the electrical devices are working correctly.
