Safety procedures
In the event of an earthquake emergency, adopt the following safety procedures:
- If you are outdoors, move away from buildings and overhead power lines, as they might collapse;
- If you are indoors, seek the shelter of a doorway in a load-bearing wall or under a beam;
- Do not use the elevator under any circumstances;
- Keep calm;
- If you are in a car, do not stop near bridges or landslide areas, because they could be damaged or collapse;
- Take shelter under a table to protect yourself from collapse;
- Reach the external assembly points listed in the emergency plans;
- If you are at home, take shelter under a table, it can protect you from collapse;
- If you are at home, do not stand near furniture, heavy objects and glass, since they could fall on you.
